Scope and Content The collection contains taped interviews by Doris Paul of Navajo Marines who served as code talkers during World War II. Also interviewed were members of the Navajo Nation government and cultural institutions, a U.S. Marine 4th Division Reunion Chairman, and Philip Johnston, the initiator of the code talker program. Easton W. Williams collection

Scope and Contents

The Easton Williams scrapbook collection consists of newspaper clippings, magazine articles, and pictures covering World War II. Several pictorial reviews of foreign countries and peoples are also included. Newspapers from around the United States were used, as well as several popular magazines. The bulk of the information is from 1929 to 1945, with greater coverage being given to the years 1941-1943. Williams also included a number of articles from 1918 about World War I.

Edgar Nesman papers

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of an autobiography written by Edgar G. Nesman who graduated from Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) in 1950. The autobiography covers his life from childhood, his relatives, high school, service in World War II, student life at MSC, work in Cuba and Costa Rica, work at the University of Florida, and other professional travel. There is also some information about Nesman's grandmother who served as a housemother to male student boarders.

Edward Hutchings papers

The Edward Hutchings papers contain correspondence of Hutchings, primarily letters to his mother that were mostly written in October and November of 1945, although there is also one letter from 1937. The collection also contains photographs of Hutchings, his friends, and Nina Dudley’s relatives, some dated mid-1943, but most undated.
